Soona privacy

A plain-language overview of the intended data flow for Soona. This notice is a draft for review before public launch.

Your voice and writing

Soona is designed to process dictation audio and rewritten text locally on your Mac using downloaded speech and writing models. Audio, transcripts, vocabulary, and rewrite instructions are not sent to the account or billing backend.

Local history may retain transcripts so that you can recover your writing. You control the retention setting and can delete entries in the app. History is local to each Mac and is not a cloud backup. The app defaults to 24 hours for saved audio and 30 days for transcripts. Exported files are readable outside Soona.

Your account and access

Email-code sign-in uses your email address to verify access to your account. The account service needs subscription and trial status, device registration information for the two-Mac limit, and the dates used to determine offline access. It does not need your dictated content.

Sign-in, initial model downloads, and subscription checks require a connection. A valid paid entitlement can continue offline for up to 30 days after the last successful check, bounded by the paid-through date plus 7 days of grace. The trial is limited to 7 days.

Payments

When billing is enabled, checkout and subscription management use a payment service. Payment and subscription metadata are separate from your voice and writing. The final notice must identify the payment provider and describe what information the provider receives and retains.

This website

This static website does not request microphone access, record audio, store demo content, use analytics scripts, or set tracking cookies. Its interactive examples use fixed sample text. Fonts and visual assets are served with the site.

This website is hosted by Vercel, which may process IP addresses and standard request logs to deliver and protect the site. See Vercel’s privacy policy for its handling of that information.

Support and diagnostics

If you contact support, the information you choose to include will be used to respond. Do not include sensitive transcript content unless you intend to share it. No automatic diagnostics service is represented by this draft; any diagnostic feature must be documented before it is enabled.

Control and contact

You can stop using the app, change local history retention, and delete local entries. Requests about account data, billing records, or other privacy rights will need a published support contact and an operational handling process. Those details are not configured in this preview.
